Inspired by the mountainous grandeur of the American west, Eric Ewazen’s A BOULDER TRIO is a spirited and dynamic addition to the chamber repertoire for double reeds. Singing and lithe melodic lines in the winds dance atop rich and solid harmony in the piano. Motoric outer movements frame a tender, slow 6/8 waltz at the center.
