A Little Book of Gay Dances -sc. Contributors: Keller-Lowy. Recorder Duets (SS). Score. Publisher's category: Recorder Duets.

People have always enjoyed dance tunes. Beggars and kings, court-ladies and peasant-women, children and grandparents danced and still dance all the world over.
The strongly rhythmical, and, for the most part, cheerful dance melodies have a charm of their own - and people have always wanted to play them, on every kind of instrument.
This collection includes some dance-tunes written by famous composers of the past (Chedeville, Haydn, JCF Bach, Mozart and several others) and others whose origins are lost and which have become traditional folk-melodies.
The short notes will give young musicians an idea of where these (in many cases very old) dance-forms came from.
The arrangements are for two descant recorders. They can also, of course, be played on other instruments (violins, clarinets etc.). So - enjoy yourselves! - Walter Keller-Lowy
