At Novation, we know how complicated the world of music technology is, so we have tools to help teachers. Ableton Live: A Guided Exploration is a curriculum, written by David Goldflies, with support from Barbara Hemmert, and in partnership with Novation. The curriculum will help teachers to familiarize students with Ableton Live software, demonstrate the use of various MIDI controllers and provide the opportunity for a live performance by the students, while introducing students to the Novation product line.
Ableton Live: A Guided Exploration also provides an avenue for both students and teachers to investigate the fundamental applications, tools, history, and aesthetics of music technology. Teachers will help readers to explore traditional, current, and emerging technologies, including personal devices; and use them to explore, capture, create, arrange, manipulate, reproduce, and distribute music. Ultimately, teachers will encourage students to participate in public performances that may serve as a resource for specific instructional goals, and to attend performances outside the school day to support, extend, and assess learning in the classroom.
