Samuel Adler
Let The Trumpet Sound
A Prelude For An Auspicious Occasion For Trumpet And Organ
Adler was asked for a trumpet and organ piece to celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Nathan Arnold Schoenberg (great-grandson of Arnold), and Let the Trumpet Sound is the result. After the opening Shofar trumpet call, the piece becomes a celebratory dance between trumpet and organ, as Adler describes it, "a free expression of the community's joy at introducing another young man into its ranks."
