As happened often with many master composers, Fritz Kreisler attributed this ALLEGRETTO he wrote for violin and piano as being by Nicola Porpora, when Kreisler actually wrote it himself merely in Porpora's style. As a result, the work was misattributed to Porpora for some time, though it is now understood to be by Kreisler. This 1962 transcription of the challenging work by Eric Hanson for clarinet and piano has been reengraved for an updated look, and it is a superb selection for the advanced clarinetist in either a contest or recital setting.
