Allegro Appassionato, Op. 43 [composer's transcription] [Alf:36-A197901]

Composed by Camille Saint-SaĞns (1835-1921) around 1875, this lighter work in B minor for solo cello and orchestra was written around the same time works as his PIANO CONCERTO NO. 4 and DANCE MACABRE. Despite the potential for existing in the shadow of these great works, the ALLEGRO APPASSIONATO, Op. 43 remains popular today as a wonderful showpiece for the cello.
