The "Minuet in G Major" from the Anna Magdalena Bach Notebook is cleverly woven into this solo. Written in G major using Middle C position, the melody trades between the left and right hands. The first 16 measures serve as an introduction to the minuet melody that is re-created in measures 12-32. An optional duet part adds harmonic interest to the piece.
