In 1961, the Suntones became the 23rd Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Champion. They went on to become one of the most beloved quartets in the Society's history and were inducted into the BHS Hall of Fame in 2005. Best of the Suntones honors this groundbreaking quartet by making nine of their signature arrangements available together for the very first time in print.
Primarily arranged by the quartet's extraordinary tenor, Gene Cokeroft, this collection also features two arrangements from Walter Latzko, and two from early Suntones member, W. A. (Bill) Whyatt. Each song in this collection has been edited to represent the original renditions by the Suntones as captured on their recorded projects: A Touch of Gold, Afterglow, As Time Goes By, Fiddler, and Where Is Love?
Learning tracks have been created to match each arrangement note-for-note, and a companion listening CD has been produced of newly remastered versions of the original Suntones recordings, sequenced in the order they appear in the songbook. Whether you are a long-time Suntones fan, or being introduced to this quartet for the very first time, this collection is a must have!
