The four Cabaza sounds--which are short, dry, bright and direct--were Werner Heider's inspiration for this composition which is penetrated by one rhythmic figure in endless variations. Towards the end, each of the players has room for a short improvisation, and finally a xylophone takes over the rhythmic three-tone motif. Composed on the occasion of the CABAZA PERCUSSION QUARTET's 15th anniversary in 1998. This composition was published on the occasion of Heider's 70th birthday on New Year's Day 2000.
