On the occasion of the year 1999, the Strauss year, we present the Ceremonial Entry in a modern new arrangement by Stephan Aetsbichler, which is based on Max Reger's organ version, for big symphonic wind orchestra. Originally, Strauss composed this work dated 1909 for trumpet choir, horns, trombones, tubas and timpani. The new edition presented here is meant to offer a version which takes account of today's requirements (e.g. saxophone as fixed feature). Another reason is the fact that today's aim is to produce a transparent, refined and varied sound as opposed to the dense and compact sound which was required in former times. This aim is what the new arrangement wants to achieve. Its level of difficulty requires advanced skills.
