Chanson Française belongs to Ravel's larger work entitled Chants Populaires. Except for the “Chanson Hébraïque”, which was published separately in 1909, these song-settings were first published in a collection with harmonizations by three composers entitled Sept Chants Populaires by P. Jurgenson, Moscow, in 1910.
