The result is a score that is unassailable in its scholarship, yet oriented for performance. Janina Klassen´s engrossing preface also offers highly interesting insights intothe artistic exchanges in the Schumann household. In May 1994, Clara Schumann’s Opus 7 has taken its due place in the phalanx of the musical world’s "major piano concertos": for the first Clara Schumann Piano Competition, it appeared on the list of audition pieces for the final round alongside the time-honored standard repertoire pieces. Our (first) edition for 2 pianos now gives Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto an equal chance among all the pieces being prepared for the competition
