Commissioned by Ralph Allwood for the Eton Choral Course with funds from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, the Britten-Pears Foundation, and the Eton Choral Course. The first performance took place on July 20, 2005, at Evensgong with live Radio 3 relay from Eton Chapel.
