Come to Me [Alf:00-16010]

Come to Me is a general anthem whose text is based upon Matthew 11: 28-30. It may be especially appropriate for All Saints' Day, Lent, and funeral services. Suggested corresponding lectionary readings for the general church year include Exodus 1: 6-14 & 22 and 2: 1-10, Psalm 124, Zechariah 9: 9-10, Matthew 11: 25-30, and Romans 7: 14-25a and 8: 9-13; one basic homiletical theme is that all who seek their rest in Jesus will find new life in Him. Suggested corresponding lectionary readings for All Saints' Day include Isaiah 25: 6-9, Psalm 17, Matthew 11: 25-30, and Acts 10: 34-43; one basic homiletical theme is finding union with the saints of God through the peace of Christ Jesus our Lord.
