Ferdinand Küchler is regarded as one of the great violin teachers of the 20th century, due, in large part, to his popular violin method. His concertinos are among the classics of teaching literature. Unlike his well-known Concertino in G major Op. 11 which is limited to the first position, the Concertino in G Major, Op. 12 is aimed at the advanced player who is working on third position and new bowing techniques. It is characterized by a friendly, noble and humorous character, without ever being banal and simple.
