Georg Wenzel Ritschel (1744-1805) -- 'Original compositions for flauto traverso and organ concertando can be found very seldom among the abundance of flute literature the 18th century. The editor considered it .. worthwhile to make this double concerto available not just because of its casting, but also because of its exceedingly graceful and captivatingly musical content. The composition may have been suggested to Ritschel by his father, Franz Joseph Ritschel, who was an organist.' (Ingo Gronefeld, 2001).
