Anton Bernhard Fuerstenau was born in Muenster (Germany) on October 20th, 1792. He first appeared in public playing the flute at the age of seven, and his joint concert tours with his father (Kaspar) took him to Berlin, Munich, Copenhagen, Saint Petersburg, Vienna, and Prague, where he met Carl Maria von Weber. He and Weber remained friends until the latter's death in 1826. Fuerstenau died in Dresden (Germany) on November 18th, 1852.
