Laura Barron, in collaboration with pianist , Jeffrey Sykes, introduces her new CD, "Echoes of a Blue Planet". This eclectic recording features classical flute and piano compositions inspired by various folk traditions. Works include Bartok's "Hungarian Peasant Dances" , Piazzola's "Tango Etude No. 3", Borne's "Carmen Fantasy", Katherine Hoover's "Kokopeli", Foss' "Three American Pieces" and Roussel's "Jouers du Flute" as well as Latin and Celtic selections. The music for Celtic Partita is in our Flute and Piano section. "Barron plays a mean, clean, flute" -Vancouver's "Georgia Straight".
