This collection of 16 old English rounds is meant for vocal groups as well as advanced beginners on the treble recorder. This opportunity is especially welcome as there is not a wealth of literature for three treble recorders.
We suggest that each part sings/plays the rounds three times; another possibility is to end when the first part has been through three times.
It is useful for recorder players to practise the songs in unison first; this helps to obtain good intonation as well as similar phrasing and articulation. Of course, this collection can also help perfecting playing by ear.
The rounds in this edition are printed in the so called ,,choir notation" (i.e. one octave below the actual sound), thus giving the more advanced treble recorder player an opportunity to practise reading music that way.
