An unsual grouping of instruments is used in this unusual and intricate performance piece, which was inspired by the incredible Buddhist mandalas (or cosmograms). Ewazen infuses the work with his impressions of three specific mandalas that captured him, as well as performance touches that reflect Buddhist tradition and practices.
