Fantaisie On Hungarian Themes.
Instrumentation: Guitar.
The Guitarist'S Repertoire.
Johann Dubez.
Ophee has chosen this little-known concert piece, originally written for the Viennese 10-string guitar, as his fourth entry in The Guitarist's Repertoire. A challenging set of Hungarian motifs, perhap s chief among them the "Rßk_czi March" (a version which Ophee suggests may have led to the adaptations of Berlioz and Liszt). Ophee's background information and his enumeration of modifications for pe rformance on the 6-string guitar are priceless, and his editing is exact.
