Ghost River [CF:COL11L]

Commissioned by the New York State Band Directors Association in celebration of its 30th Symposium, Ghost River is a 7-minute tone poem for winds. Colgrass uses multiple techniques throughout the instruments to reflect ripples, rills, splashes, and the stillness of depths in his imagined Ghost River. The work is included in Colgrass Horizons, an all-Colgrass recording from the University of Central Oklahoma Wind Symphony (Brian Lamb, cond.). Listen to a performance by UCOWS on YouTube.
