Hillulah is an Israeli piece of music. It refrains from any “ethnic” or other musical stereotypes. It is, first and foremost, written for the young people of the Petakh-Tikva conservatory band, striving to provide an opportunity for the display of expression, technique, brilliance of sound and color of the various soloists, groups and ensembles within the band. The music consists of tonal and modal melodies, as well as several “bi-tonal” sections, together with some “Stravinskian” a-symmetric rhythmic ostinani. (8:00)
