The present selection ot Hungarian Folk Tunes is taken mostly from the "Corpus musicae popularishungaricae"(Budapest 1953),for which Bartok and Kodaly were jointly responsible, the first volume of which only appeared, however, eight years after Bartoks death. - Nos. 2, 6 and 7 come from Bartoks collection "The Hungarian Folk Song" which also appeared in German in 1925.
