Franz Liszt (1811-1886) wrote 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies for piano as a way to incorporate the music of his youth into his compositions, and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-sharp minor, S.244/2 (1847) is by far the most well-known of the collection. This orchestration by Karl Mĵller-Berghaus (1829-1907) is transposed down to the key of C-minor. Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 4.2.3.0: Timp.Perc(3-4): Hp: Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set).
