Originally written as a suite for piano four-hands in 1871, Georges Bizet (1838-1875) orchestrated the six of the twelve movements in 1880. A precursor to other childhood-themed works by Debussy, Faurİ, and Ravel, the work remains a common part of the orchestral repertoire. This arrangement for wind nonet by Graham Sheen includes the following movements: I. La Toupie (The Top), 2. La Poupİe (The Doll), 3. Les Chevaux de Bois (Merry-Go-Round), 4. Colin-Maillard (Blind Man's Buff), 5. Trompette et Tambour (Trumpet and Drum), 6. Les Quatre Coins, 7. Petit Mari, Petite Femme!..., 8. Le Bal. Instrumentation: 1(dPicc).2.2.2: 2.0.0.0.
