Composed around 1924, the Divertissement was first performed in 1937 by Marcel Moyse and colleagues in Paris. The work displays Koechlin’s understanding of the expressive and technical capabilities of the flute, with flowing melodic lines and a brilliant finale. The original parts, however, were riddled with inconsistencies and errors, so the piece was rarely performed. This edition presents for the first time a comprehensively revised and edited full score with individual performance parts
