La Lucchesina -ScP. Contributors: Guami. Recorder Sextets etc. (ATTB x 2). Score and Parts. Publisher's category: Recorder Sextets etc..
Gioseffo (Giuseppe) Guami was born in Lucca around 1540, one of a family of musicians. Between 1561 and 1568 he worked as a singer at St. Marks, Venice, where he was a pupil of Adrian Willaert and Annibale Padovano.
This is an attractive piece that is lively rhythmically without being too hard to play. The fairly limited compass of the parts makes it suitable for a wide range of wind instruments such as cornetts, dulcians, trombones - even crumhorns.
