Charcoal Landscape
For Solo Cello and Flute Ensemble
Edited by: Emmanuel Feldman
Charcoal Landscape explores the possibilities created by adding the low voice of the cello to a typically treble-heavy ensemble. The cello weaves in and out of the flute ensemble, sometimes as a soloist and sometimes as an ensemble member. The piece is highly melodic and lyrical and alternates between dream-like sections and rhythmic dance sections. This work was premiered by the Nashua Flute Choir in March of 2012 with Boston cellist Emmanuel Feldman at the community house of Hamilton and Wenham, South Hamilton, Massachusetts. For advanced players. Dur.: 415
