This is hard driving big band jazz for the clarinet family! Playable by college or advanced high school musicians, the scoring features use of the augmented scale as the basis for building diatonic or chromatic melodic structures. Subtle harmonic changes seem deceptively simple, but will keep soloists on their toes. Instrumentation includes 4 Bb clarinets, Eb alto clarinet, 2 Bb bass clarinets, Eb contra bass clarinet, piano, bass, and drums.
