Lutkin (1858-1931) was the first dean of the Northwestern University School of Music and a leading authority on church music. This popular Easter hymn was arranged from his Hymn Tune Transcriptions for Organ. This challenging arrangement varies the treatment of the melody through five verses, including a fugue.
