Anthem commissioned by Winchester Cathedral for their choir of Girl Choristers.
The text for this anthem is a poem by Martin Shaw, Bishop of Argyll, which focuses on Saint Margaret of Scotland's (ca. 1045 - November 16th, 1093; canonized in 1250 by Pope Innocent IV) sense of isolation and exile when her mother Agatha, widow of the English prince Edward the Exile (son of Edmond Ironside) relocated to the protection of King Malcolm III of Scotland (who soon thereafter became Margaret's stepfather) after the Norman Conquest.
