George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) composed THE MESSIAH in 1741 - it is widely regarded as his most popular work. In 1789, Baron Gottfried Van Swieten commissioned Mozart to create a modernized version for a concert in Vienna. This edition of Mozart's HALLELUJAH CHORUS arrangement is edited by English music theorist and composer Ebenezer Prout. It includes the original wind parts by Handel which Prout rediscovered and incorporated in his 1902 volume. Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 2.2.3.0: Timp: Org: Str (4.4.3.3.3 in set): Chor.
