Giving the first concert is a special occasion for any young musician, motivating players to keep working at their instrument and music making. Making this a positive experience involves choosing pieces that are technically and musically manageable, so we have chosen 22 easy and well-known concert pieces for violin and piano, all tried and tested in lessons and youth music competitions. This selection of mainly original works is arranged according to periods and styles. All pieces are included on the CD in two versions (full version and piano accompaniment.)
“Mohrs' wonderful collection of beginning violin pieces has six sections representing different styles and time periods, including Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern. The latter group includes a fun and eclectic variety of pop, jazz, and tango tunes.” –American String Teacher
