O Come to Bethlehem [CF:CM8774]

Ruth Schram has a true gift for writing for the needs of today’s church choir and this Christmas anthem, which combines original material with two familiar tunes, O Come, Little Children and O Come All Ye Faithful, is no exception. The setting is just the perfect fit for many church choirs, with limited difficulty for the men and the exchange of melody between children’s voices, women’s and men’s lines. The melody itself is lovely and the text summons us all to come to the Christ child. The piano accompaniment offers a substantial support to the voices, while remaining simple enough for any church pianist to play. A special part for string synthesizer is also included. This piece will be a beautiful addition to any Christmas concert or seasonal worship experience.
