French flautist, Louis Fleury (1878-1926) was a pupil of Paul Taffanel at the Paris Conservatoire. As a significant pioneer of the Baroque flute, his collection of Original Works of the 17th and 18th Centuries is well-informed. Fleury's collection includes works such as Greensleeves, and pieces by composers including Vinci and Naudot. Fleury's edits include piano realisations of figured bass, articulation, phrasing, ornamentation and peformance directions. For all aspiring flautists of the baroque genre, Fleury's Original Works of the 17th and 18th Centuries makes for an essential addition to the repertoire.
