Posch was an organist, organ-builder and composer who spent his working life in Austria and Slovenia. Although the paduana begins slowly in the traditional manner, it quite quickly introduces faster-moving material, and by the third section the harmony is simplified to allow quite elaborate figuration, which is not confined to the two upper parts.
