Pearsall (1795-1856) is truly a diamond-in-the rough. A contemporary of Mendelssohn and Chopin, his sixty published works are in the style of Elizabethan madrigals with a Romantic Era expressionism. Slow and hauntingly beautiful, this madrigal is woven with suspensions chained one after another. A real find!
