Originally written by Debussy for piano four hands, PETITE SUITE has been transcribed many times, with the orchestral arrangement by Henri Bĵsser being the most well-known. Perhaps due to a request from pianist-publisher Jacques Durand for a work accessible to skilled amateurs, the work is notable for its simplicity in stark contrast with the modernist works that Debussy was writing at the time. This transcription of the Bĵsser arrangement for small orchestra was completed by Hubert Mouton. Instrumentation: 1.1.2.1: 2.2.0.0: Timp.Perc(2): Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set).
