Following a jocular remark from his wife that he sometimes seemed like a child, Robert Schumann (1810-1856) was inspired to write a work for piano evoking the curiosities and sentiments of childhood. In 1838, he composed 30 movements in total, but eventually eliminated all but thirteen for his KINDERSZENEN (SCENES FROM CHILDHOOD), Op. 15. Schumann originally called it LEICHTE STCKE (EASY PIECES). He later added descriptive titles to equip the performer with suggestions for interpretation. This edition has been orchestrated by Israeli conductor and composer, Yoav Talmi. Movements: 1.
