Mozart wrote canons throughout his creative life. Unfortunately, few are performed today, as many have words that show an earthy and lavatorial humour that can only be appreciated by performers in an advanced state of inebriation Yet they contain some wonderful music; most of those in this collection were written in the month after Mozart had finished his last three symphonies. Playable by any mixture of string instruments.
