Peter Schickele has set some of Shakespeares most famous speeches to not only modern, but distinctly non-classical music including pop, jazz, and country styles. Written to sing along with his brother (the composer singing from the piano), the Schickele brothers have performed them to considerable acclaim at parties and assemblies, and for more than fifty years they have been the finale to the composers song programs, first with David Schickele, and later with David Düsing. Songs from Shakespeare is recorded (with David Düsing) on the Telarc label.
