Soul's Joy [HL:292954]

This new work was written for a high school festival honor chorus. Scored SSATB with piano, the text is by the sixteenth century writer John Donne. While a powerfully expressive work, this is also a teaching piece – the deep thoughts of the Donne text, the highly expressive vocals set against a plaintive piano accompaniment. Try it with your advanced high school choir or college/university ensemble.
