The music of Bohemian cellist and composer David Popper (1843-1913) is virtuosic and charming, but only a select few pieces out of his vast output have come to be known by audiences and cellists alike. He wrote Spanish Dances, Op. 54 around 1884. It includes five pieces: 1. Zur Gitarre, 2. Serenade, 3. Spanischer Carneval, 4. L'Andalouse, 5. Vito. American solo cellist, composer and pedagogue, Emilio Col³n, has edited this edition.
