Score (Score and Parts are also sold as a set; see 9781860969294) -- The three pieces comprising ABRSM's first string quartet publication, and the latest in the Spectrum series, were commissioned by the London String Quartet Foundation for the London International String Quartet Competition 2008. The pieces were premiered at the Wigmore Hall, London, on March 11 2008 by the Saconni Quartet, and there will be a Study Day on the three pieces, also at the Wigmore Hall, on April 26, when student string quartets will have the opportunity of being tutored in the repertoire. Although the pieces have been written for Grade 8 standard, filling a gap in contemporary music repretoire at this level, they have been composed as creative works in their own right and can be included in the string quartet performance repertoire.
