Spider Walk [CF:114-40734]

From world-renowned Polish composer and percussion virtuoso Marta Ptaszy?ska, Spider Walk was written for and dedicated to Stanislaw Skoczy?ski, who premiered the work at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 1993. The formal design of the work is constructed on the principle of the Golden Section's proportions. Small rhythmic units, as well as whole rhythmic phrases, are built and developed on the so-called "logarithmic spiral," the same ratios in which pine cones grow and spiders make their webs.
