After the many positive responses I received for the edition 'The Blue Hour - 22 Pieces for Guitar in Blues and Rock Feeling' (N2642), I am pleased to present a subsequent edition entitled 'Strings in Space'. The pieces in blues and rock style are now joined by works with a jazz and Latin flair. There is likely to be something for everybody among these pieces. Music is a unversial medium. That is what makes it uniquely appealing. With the help of music, we can overcome to a degree the limitations imposed on us by space and time. The guitar can help take you on a musical journey through time in this regard. If musicians are able to completely absorb themselves in music (to become fully immersed in it) then reality around them fades away. Once they have entered the world of fantasy, then it is possible to easily visit any place or any time. A state of consciousness which has been changed in this way is often referred to as being in 'flow'. You feel like you have merged with your instrument, become one with the music. It could not be more obvious: anyone who has not yet been in this flow should set out in search of it. For it is only this kind of experience which will reward instrumentalists for the effort it took them to learn the instrument. The pieces in this edition have the potential for a 'flow' experience; at least that is the experience I have had with them. What are you waiting for? Just let it flow! (Kurt Schumacher).
