Arnold Ludwig Mendelssohn (1855-1933), German composer, teacher of such students as Paul Hindemith, and second cousin to Felix Mendelssohn, composed the Suite for Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion, Op. 62 in 1916. In eight relatively short movements, the opening Fanfare is likely the best known. Movements: 1. Fanfare (Maestoso); 2. (Moderato); 3. Reigen (Molto tranquillo); 4. (Allegro non troppo, ma scherzoso); 5. (Vivace); 6. (Commodo); 7. (Andante); 8. Marsch (Alla marcia). Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 2.2.3.0: Timp.Perc(1). Timpani and all percussion may be played by one percussionist.
