Voice and/or Instruments
Facsimile Score
As early as 1932, Harry Partch composed Psalm 23 for Voice and Adapted Viola. Together with Psalm 137 By the Rivers of Babylon the Two Psalms arose. Both settings were performed with other early compositions several times with great success, although Partch was only at the beginning of his career. Almost ten years later he re-set the Adapted Viola part for his newly developed Chromelodeon and added a part for the Kithara.
