The Muses: 3-part Fancies from 7th Set of Books, No.1. Contributors: East. Recorder Trios (TTB). Part(s). Publisher's category: Recorder Trios.
The nine fancies from the last publication, in 1638, of one of Elizabethan Englands most popular composers. Unlike the better known Airy Fancies of Four Parts from the same source, these pieces represent a fully developed instrumental style, described by East on the title page as being so made that they must be played and not sung. Moderately difficult for recorders, a real work-out for viols.
INCLUDED:
Cleio - Muse of History
Melopomene - Muse of Tragedy
Thalia - Muse of Comedy
